1. General Information

Q: What is happening?
A: Cheyenne State Bank is being acquired by Hilltop Bank. This means ownership is changing, but your accounts and services will continue as normal during the transition.

Q: Why is this happening?
A: Banks are acquired to expand services, improve technology, and strengthen financial stability.

Q: Do I need to do anything right now?
A: There will be action required on the following items:

  • A new debit card with a new number, you will need to identify any recurring payments that you may have that are currently being paid with your debit card. Hilltop Bank offers an automated service to help you move recurring payments. If you would like to use this feature, please call (307) 265-2740 to ensure that we have your current email and phone number.
  • If you have ACH transactions that come into or go out of your accounts on a recurring basis you will not need to take any action at this time. These recurring payments and deposits are expected to continue without interruption.

2. Accounts & Access

Q: Will my account number change?
A: Your account numbers remain the same. Please note that your old routing number is still active, but we encourage you to use the Hilltop Bank routing number (102301199).

Q: Will my direct deposits and automatic payments continue?
A: Yes. These will continue without interruption unless we notify you otherwise.

Q: Can I keep using my current debit card?
A: Your card will continue to work until 3:00 PM on March 13th. Please begin using your Hilltop debit card after 3:00 PM on March 13th. Instructions on how to activate your card and choose your PIN will be mailed with your card. After March 13th, your Cheyenne State Bank debit card will no longer work. Over the weekend of March 13th, you will have available funds of $500.

Q: Will my checks still work?
A: You may continue to use current checks until you receive a free package of checks for your Hilltop account between March 2 and March 15. Once you have the new checks, your old checks should be destroyed. If you would prefer, you are welcome to bring them into the bank and we will shred them for you.

3. Online & Mobile Banking

Q: Will my online banking login change?
A:

    • Retail/Personal: Beginning March 16th , please call us at (307) 265-2740, we will provide a PIN for you to enroll in online banking by selecting the “enroll now” option, and following the prompts.
    • Business: We will get you in touch with our Client Treasury team for more information.

Q: Will my transaction history transfer?
A: Yes. Your account history will remain available.

Q: Will the mobile app change?
A: Yes, once enrolled in online banking, you will need to download the Hilltop Bank personal mobile app to continue to bank through an app.

4. Fees, Rates & Products

Q: Will my fees change?
A: Your current fee structure remains in place for now. Please review the fee schedule and that was sent in the welcome packet.

Q: Will my interest rates change?
A: Your existing loan rates will remain according to your agreements, current deposit rates are included in the welcome packet.

Q: Will my current products stay the same?
A: The product names will change, but your accounts, loans, and services will continue as usual unless we notify you of updates.

5. Loans & Mortgages

Q: Does my loan or mortgage change?
A: Your loan terms remain the same. Only the servicing institution may change.

Q: Does my ready reserve line of credit change?
A: Yes, you will be provided new rate disclosures with updated terms and conditions.

Q: Will my payment due date change?
A: No. Your due date and payment amount remain unchanged.

Q: Where do I send payments?
A: Continue sending payments as you currently do. If you are set up for automatic payments, those will continue as scheduled.

6. Branches & ATMs

Q: Will my branch close?
A: No, the branch will remain open, but will begin operating as Hilltop Bank effective March 2. The hours will be unchanged.

Q: Can I use Hilltop Bank’s ATMs?
A: Yes. You will also have more access to surcharge-free ATMs as Hilltop Bank is a part of the MoneyPass network. See our ATM locations or visit the MoneyPass website.

7. Safety & Security

Q: Is my money still insured?
A: Yes. Your deposits remain insured by the FDIC up to the applicable limits.

Q: Is my personal information safe?
A: Yes. Both banks follow strict security and privacy standards.

8. Timeline & Communication

Q: How will I be notified of changes?
A: Changes are being communicated though mail, branch signage, and in-person.
